For a closed superfund municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill in the Midwest, American Environmental Group LTD’s (AEGL) Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Division has been contracted to provide numerous services. The primary scope of these O&M activities include the performance of routine, non-routine, and non-routine emergency operations, maintenance, monitoring, and data management services on the site’s landfill gas (LFG), leachate, and condensate collection systems.
The site’s extensive active collection systems include 26 LFG extraction wells, one LFG blower/flare skid, and 22 leachate removal pumping systems.
Additionally, AEGL performs site and cap inspections, explosive gas monitoring in permanent LFG monitoring probes, and preventative maintenance. The frequencies of these services vary from monthly to annually, depending on permit requirements and client requests.
Regarding non-routine urgent response services, the O&M Division’s work includes but is not limited to down flare response, UST load out coordination, LFG system troubleshooting and repairs, blower/flare troubleshooting and repairs, pipe camera investigations, pipe repairs, general site and grounds maintenance, and leachate pump troubleshooting and repairs.
AEGL’s expert staff draws upon not only its own extensive experience but can utilize the insight of AEGL’s 400+ person national team and its sister divisions that focus on Landfill Gas Systems construction and Geosynthetics supply and installation.
